Stove Top Espreso Machine: How It All Began
The first stove top espresso machine is believed to have been made after the year 1918 when an Italian by the name of Alfonso Bialetti made such an espresso machine in his workshop from a simple idea borrowed from a washing machine. In fact, Bialetti notice local women washing clothes in boilers that were sealed and which had pipes in the center which drew the soapy water from the boiler’s bottom and redistributed it to the entire laundry.

It was not long after that the stove top espresso machine became a reality which since then has become a machine widely used in households throughout the world and people today can sit back and enjoy their espresso coffee in the comforts of their homes thanks to the observations of Alfonso Bialetti. However, it was only in the year 1933 that Bialetti succeeding in making the first stove top espresso machine which was at the time christened as the Moka Express.

This success was not lost on other companies who began to copy the design of Bialetti’s stove top espresso machine and soon it led Renato Bialetti to be forced to distinguish his product from others by adding a company mascot which was a caricature of his father Alfonso which began to be known as little man with a moustache.
